Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Systemic Family Therapist to join our specialist Sussex-wide Family Eating Disorder Service (SFEDS).

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing a high-quality, specialist applied systemic family therapy service to clients, their families, or carers where there are highly complex presentations.

The role will involve working as a senior member of the SFEDS team, providing clinical supervision and governance to a defined group of systemic family therapists, and supporting systemic practice within the team.

The ideal candidate will have a postgraduate qualification in a recognised psychological therapy, leading to recognised professional accreditation in Systemic Family Therapy, and will be registered as a psychological therapist with a relevant registration body.

The successful candidate will have a high level of knowledge of the theory and practice of specified psychological therapy, experience of working as a qualified psychological therapist, and experience of working with specified client groups.

The role will also involve providing clinical supervision to eating disorder therapists, the duty team, and/or the home intervention team, and acting as a specialist systematic psychotherapy resource by provision of systemic supervision, consultation, and training within CAMHS.

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate a caring, compassionate, and non-judgmental attitude, and will show a commitment to making a difference when supporting young people and their families on their recovery journeys.

Main Duties

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

• Providing a high-quality, specialist applied systemic family therapy service to clients, their families, or carers where there are highly complex presentations.

• Working as a senior member of the SFEDS team, providing clinical supervision and governance to a defined group of systemic family therapists, and supporting systemic practice within the team.

• Providing clinical supervision to eating disorder therapists, the duty team, and/or the home intervention team, and acting as a specialist systematic psychotherapy resource by provision of systemic supervision, consultation, and training within CAMHS.

• Demonstrating a caring, compassionate, and non-judgmental attitude, and showing a commitment to making a difference when supporting young people and their families on their recovery journeys.

Key Requirements

The successful candidate will need to have:

• A postgraduate qualification in a recognised psychological therapy, leading to recognised professional accreditation in Systemic Family Therapy.

• Registration as a psychological therapist with a relevant registration body.

• Experience of working as a qualified psychological therapist.
