Job Summary: We are seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to support students with special needs in a Welsh Medium Primary School.

About the Role: As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and other support professionals to develop and implement effective strategies tailored to individual student needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Cultivate a Nurturing Learning Environment: Foster a supportive and inclusive atmosphere to promote the academic and social growth of students with special needs.
  • Collaborate with Teachers and Professionals: Work closely with teachers and other support professionals to develop and implement effective strategies tailored to individual student needs.
  • Record Student Progress: Maintain comprehensive records of student progress and actively contribute to assessments and reports.
  • Communicate with Parents/Guardians: Foster regular communication with parents/guardians, offering updates on student progress and addressing any concerns.
  • Collaborate with External Professionals: Collaborate with external professionals, such as educational psychologists and speech therapists, to meet the unique needs of students.

Requirements:

  • Understanding of Special Needs: Demonstrated ability to connect with students with special needs on a personal level.
  • Strong Interpersonal Skills: Strong interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and families.
  • Patience and Empathy: Exhibit traits of patience, empathy, and composure in challenging situations.
  • Organization and Time Management: Proficient in organization, time management, and task prioritization.
