The Quality Control Laboratory Assistant plays a crucial role in maintaining the quality of products at Thrive Group in Frome.

About the Job

This role involves ensuring that all stock is rotated correctly, conducting regular stock-takes, and reporting any needs to management. The successful candidate will also be responsible for maintaining lab databases, testing via internal and external monitoring procedures, and carrying out environmental and plant hygiene swabs.

Responsibilities and Requirements
  • Rotate stock correctly and conduct regular stock-takes to report any needs to management.
  • Maintain lab databases (LIMs or similar system) to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
  • Test via internal and external monitoring procedures to ensure compliance.
  • Carry out environmental and plant hygiene swabs as scheduled.
  • Determine non-complying results and take necessary actions by communicating with management and following up with re-sampling and re-testing.
  • Previous chemistry or micro laboratory experience, preferably in the Food industry.
  • Able to work under pressure and manage workload effectively.
  • Demonstrate ability to follow strict procedures and withstand audits.
Working Conditions and Benefits
  • Available to work 3 rotating shifts, full-time, for 37 hours per week.

Estimated salary: £35,000 - £45,000 per annum, depending on experience.
