Estimated Salary: £500 per day
Job Description:As a key member of our team, you will lead and manage school improvement within Learning, Skills and Education, ensuring all schools in the county deliver a high-quality experience for learners.
Your primary responsibilities will include:
- Ensuring the delivery of school improvement and intervention services as outlined in the LSE Service Development Plan and primary legislation to drive continuous improvement in outcomes across all schools.
- Collaborating with the school effectiveness team to challenge and support maintained schools, developing and implementing school-to-school support plans where necessary. You will share best practices, coordinate, facilitate, and broker school-to-school support to promote excellence in education.
- Maintaining effective communication with allocated schools, serving as the first point of contact for Head Teachers on School Improvement matters and providing guidance on relevant services such as Safeguarding, finance, HR, legal, and Education Inclusion.
- Working closely with NCC teams and other agencies to ensure alignment between improvement planning and the work of school improvement colleagues.
- Evaluating school-level planning to inform the development of an overall county/area plan for school improvement, keeping the County Council informed about the quality of education in each school.
- Providing advice to the HOSSE, other officers, and members on school needs to enable sustainable school improvement.
- Advising the HOSSE on the necessity of formal school intervention when required and collaborating with the HOSSE to exercise those powers of intervention.
- Coordinating, monitoring, and evaluating the impact of school-based colleagues' work to support school improvement across the county, regularly assessing and challenging performance based on school categorisation and triggers.
Requirements:
- Qualifications: A recognized teaching qualification.
- Experience: Proven extensive and effective senior management experience in a school and/or LA, along with teaching experience in at least one key stage, preferably two.
- Compliance: Right to work in the UK, previous references, and an up-to-date DBS.
