About the Role:

As a Year 2 Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with the class teacher to support children through a crucial stage in their learning journey. Your role will involve assisting with lesson preparation, providing small group or one-to-one support, and ensuring pupils stay engaged and on track with their learning objectives.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assisting the class teacher with lesson planning, preparation, and delivery.
  • Supporting pupils in small groups or one-to-one to ensure they understand key concepts.
  • Helping to manage classroom behaviour and create a positive, inclusive learning environment.
  • Supervising children during playtimes and lunchtimes, promoting a safe and happy environment.
  • Helping to prepare classroom resources and displays.
Requirements:
  • Previous experience working in a Year 2 classroom or Key Stage 1 setting.
  • A relevant qualification, such as a Level 2 or 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning (desirable).
  • A proactive, patient, and nurturing approach to supporting children's learning.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.
  • An enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
