Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled Technical Engineering Manager to join our team at Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks. As a key member of our organization, you will play a vital role in driving engineering best practice and innovation for our project portfolio.

The successful candidate will have strong leadership skills, with experience in managing and developing high-performing engineering teams. They will be responsible for developing technical capabilities within the Project Engineering team through training, process refinement, and quality assurance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of technical specialists to support and guide project engineers in managing engineering risks and maximizing opportunities to deliver value for money to consumers.
  • Develop and implement improvement programs to enhance process, training, and innovation within the engineering team.
  • Maintain a positive solution-focused culture within the team, encouraging collaboration and innovation.

Requirements:

  • Strong technical engineering knowledge and problem-solving experience across various engineering disciplines.
  • Experience in leading, developing, and managing high-performing engineering teams.
  • Qualifications in a relevant engineering discipline, preferably a Fellow or Chartered Engineer.
