Marine Systems Modeller

About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Marine Systems Modeller to join our Simulation, Dynamics and Control team at Stirling Dynamics.
The successful candidate will be responsible for developing complex control algorithms and system plant models for next-generation marine applications.
This role involves all aspects of model-based design, including mapping system requirements to model elements, requirements validation, and design verification through the use of model-based analysis.
The modelling and simulation work will be predominantly carried out using Matlab, Simulink, and associated toolboxes.
Key Responsibilities
- Defining model and control algorithm requirements
- Building and testing models
- Peer review of models
- Preparation and presentation of results, models, etc. to customers
- Formal verification procedures
- Authoring model documentation
Requirements
- Candidates will ideally be degree qualified (or equivalent) in a related discipline (preferably Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or similar)
Skills
- MATLAB/Simulink
- Control theory
- Systems modelling
- Systems engineering
- Version control tools (GIT)
- Familiarity with Atlassian tool chain or similar (Bitbucket, Jira)

- Advanced control theory, such as Kalman filters, and state estimation

Experience
Industrial experience is expected, with the role intended to support marine projects, but if you have the skills and experience to match from other industries, then this will be considered.
