Job Title: Learning Support Assistant

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join our team at Shevington High School. As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the teaching staff and students, ensuring that all pupils have access to learning and support programmes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide support to teaching staff and students, overseeing access to learning and support programmes.
  • Assist the teacher in the management of pupils, including those with SEND.
  • Support the development of SEND pupils, providing particular help for those with learning difficulties and/or behavioural, social or physical disabilities.
  • Supervise whole classes when required in the short-term absence of a teacher.
  • Attend to pupils' personal needs, including toileting, hygiene, dressing, eating, and giving minor medical support.

Requirements:

  • Experience as a teaching assistant or in a caring background would be beneficial.
  • Ability to work effectively with students, staff, and parents.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
