About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Catering Assistant to join our team at The Manor House Roundhay, a brand new 65-bed care home set to open in the near future. As a Catering Assistant, you will play a vital role in delivering a high-quality catering service to our residents, ensuring their nutritional needs are met and their dining experience is exceptional.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver a quality catering service in line with health, safety, and hygiene requirements.
  • Comply with food safety, hygiene, and health and safety procedures.
  • Minimise wastage when preparing meals and use equipment correctly.
  • Escalate concerns and issues.

Desirable Knowledge and Experience

  • Level 2 food safety certificate.
  • Health and safety procedures, including control of substances harmful to health (COSHH).
  • Previous catering experience with knowledge of basic food safety and safe use of knives and kitchen equipment.
  • Experience of working with older people.

Required Skills

  • Ability to organise time and prioritise activities.
  • Able to work in a pressured environment.
  • Flexible and able to work as part of a team and individually.
