Electrical Shift Lead - An Exciting Opportunity at Austin Fraser

Austin Fraser, a leading recruitment agency, is working in partnership with a top FMCG manufacturing business at their Manchester site. We're looking for an experienced Lead Electrical Engineer to join their team as Shift Lead, managing a small team in a fast-paced 24/7 environment.

About the Job:

As Shift Lead, you'll supervise, coordinate, and deliver all shift engineering maintenance activities, including planned and ad hoc tasks on your shift. You'll be responsible for ensuring weekly work plans are effective in achieving low downtime while supporting operations teams to maintain production efficiencies.

What We Offer:

This role comes with a competitive salary of £58,000 per annum, inclusive of bonus. You'll also enjoy 24 days annual leave, an Enhanced Pension Scheme up to 10% matched, Bupa Private Health Scheme, Employee Discount Scheme, and various Training and Progression opportunities.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the electrical shift and resources to provide maximum availability of production plant and support equipment.
  • Develop and implement strategies to meet current and future site demands.
  • Drive cost reductions, improve OEE, and reduce waste.
  • Liaise with the FLM team to achieve high shift performance while promoting site safety and quality cultures.

Requirements:

We're looking for a skilled Lead Electrical Engineer with strong leadership and team management skills. You should have a recognised Electrical Apprenticeship and be qualified to ONC or BTEC equivalent (HNC is desirable). Previous experience in Food Manufacturing or FMCG would be ideal.
