About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Engineer to join our team at Pearson. As a Data Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining complex data pipelines and architectures to support our business applications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop scalable and efficient data pipelines using AWS services such as Lambda, S3, and Redshift.
  • Develop and maintain complex SQL queries and stored procedures to support various business applications.
  • Perform advanced performance tuning and optimization of data pipelines to ensure high performance and scalability.
  • Implement and maintain data monitoring solutions to proactively identify and address potential issues.
  • Develop scripts and automation tools to streamline data management tasks.
Requirements
  • Proficiency in one or more database systems such as Amazon Aurora MySQL, Microsoft SQL Oracle, DynamoDB, etc.
  • Expert level hands-on experience in designing, developing, and maintaining complex SQL queries, stored procedures to support various business applications.
  • Experience with large-scale data environments and data warehousing concepts, design, and loading strategies.
  • Excellent organisational skills, proactive, self-starter with a curious approach to data and its value.
  • JIRA – Kanban Boards, agile methodology.
