Job Title: Project Manager
At Babcock International Group, we're working to create a safe and secure world, together. As a Project Manager, you'll play a crucial role in supporting the lead Project Manager, covering specific project functions, deputising for the lead Project Manager, or managing non-complex projects under supervision.
The Role
As a Project Manager, you'll be responsible for applying all central project management competencies to the required level. You'll manage tasks, contribute to the whole lifecycle from concept through to in-service support, and perform the following key responsibilities:
- Procurement - Secure the provision of resources needed for projects from internal and external providers.
- Requirements Management - Use negotiation and influencing skills to arrive at agreed schedules of requirements, including agreed success criteria.
- Solution Development - Determine the best means of satisfying requirements within the context of the project initiative's objectives and constraints.
- Schedule Management - Develop, baseline, and monitor an integrated schedule to inform the direction of the project.
- Resource Management - Identify and schedule the resources required to implement the programme.
This role is full-time, 35 hours per week, and provides hybrid working arrangements.
Essential Experience
The successful candidate will have:
- Experience explaining how their behaviours contribute to the achievement of the team.
- Experience explaining how their wider team contributes to the business unit.
- The ability to take appropriate decisions based on informed judgement, which may impact others.
- Supports the team to deliver excellent customer service.
- The ability to solve more complex problems, which may affect others.
Qualifications
The successful candidate will have:
- Professional Route - A degree in engineering or project management, or appropriate accreditation to APM standards.
- Experiential Route - HNC with appropriate apprenticeship/experience in a relevant engineering or project discipline.
- Demonstrable knowledge or experience of working with common project tools (MS Office, Project, etc.).
Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
