Job Title: AWS Engineer Contract

We are seeking an experienced AWS Engineer to join our team on a contract basis. As an AWS Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining large-scale cloud infrastructure on Amazon Web Services (AWS).

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and implement automated pipelines to provision and configure infrastructure using software development practices such as CI/CD, automated testing, and GitOps.
  • Build and maintain the IaC framework for a customer, enabling them to extend and scale the framework in the future through mentoring and pairing.
  • Introduce automation to other teams, allowing the IaC framework to integrate with these teams, fostering an automation community of practice at the customer, and promoting an agile mentality within operations teams.
  • Enable operations teams in coding practices and the usage of the IAC framework.
Requirements:
  • Significant hands-on experience in automating the provisioning and configuration of large-scale infrastructure.
  • Ability to work well within and across teams to deliver high-quality solutions.
  • Strong communication skills and an ability to enable others through coaching and pairing.
  • Experience using CI/CD techniques in DevOps and IaC approaches.
  • Programming/scripting experience in an IaC framework.
  • Experience with Linux, Test-Driven Development (TDD), Agile Software Development methodologies, and Agile project management tools such as JIRA.
  • Experience with scripting languages such as Python, Golang, PowerShell, Groovy, BASH, and basic administrator knowledge of Unix systems.
  • Provisioning and configuration tools experience, including writing declarative code and understanding its benefits in an IaC approach.
  • Experience with public cloud providers such as Microsoft Azure, AWS, or GCP, and on-prem private cloud providers such as VMware vSphere, Tanzu.
