Chief Accountant

This is an excellent opportunity for a Senior Accountant to join Michael Page (UK), a highly regarded, independent chartered firm of accountants based in Barnstaple. As a key member of this successful team, you will play a pivotal role in the hands-on delivery, preparation, and review of year-end accounts, tax, VAT, management accounts, bookkeeping, and wider accountancy services to a varied client portfolio.

The ideal candidate will have a background within UK accountancy practice, delivering services across year-end accounts and general accountancy practice service delivery to a wide range of sole trader, partnership, and limited company clients. You will have developed your career to the Senior Accountant level and be looking for a career move within a firm that can offer a long-term fit and an environment where you can carve a valued, key position supporting the wider management and partner team.

About the Role:

• Prepare and review year-end accounts, tax, VAT, management accounts, and bookkeeping services for a diverse client base.
• Deliver high-quality services with a focus on exceptional client satisfaction and strong relationships.
• Collaborate with managers and partners to achieve business objectives and drive growth.

Requirements:

• AAT/ACCA qualified or equivalent experience.
• Strong technical accounting skills, including year-end accounts and general accountancy practice service delivery.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with clients and colleagues.
