Job Description:

Maintenance Operative

The Magdalene College seeks a skilled Maintenance Operative to assist the in-house team of tradespeople. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing skilled maintenance assistance to all Members of the College.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide skilled maintenance assistance to all Members of the College
  • Assist in the monitoring and maintenance of College buildings and systems
  • Ensure maintenance and repairs to the College properties are completed to a high standard
  • Promote a culture of safe working practices across the College

Requirements:

  • Advanced knowledge of a building trade (electrical, mechanical, carpentry, or decoration)
  • Experience in general maintenance including minor plumbing and electrical work
  • Knowledge of basic building construction and decorating techniques
  • Knowledge of safe working practices

Salary and Benefits:

The position is full-time, 40 hours a week, and attracts a salary of £26,648 p.a. (pay point 9), plus excellent benefits including:

  • Contributory pension scheme
  • Lunch when in College
  • 33 days holiday (including bank holidays)
  • Use of sports facilities
