The successful candidate will be responsible for the smooth coordination of transport requirements for customers and third parties.
Key Responsibilities:
The Logistics and Transportation Supervisor will oversee the management and coordination of pallet network operations, ensuring efficient logistics planning and control for client requirements. They will utilize IT systems to book and track transport efficiently, solve real-time logistics issues to maintain customer satisfaction, and ensure legal compliance with tachograph legislation. Additionally, they will maximize vehicle and driver utilization, communicate with customers daily, and monitor KPI status to ensure maximum achievement.
KPI Reporting and Administration:
The successful candidate will be responsible for KPI reporting to senior management and directors, dealing with queries from all network depots and drivers, and ensuring all actions raised are completed within a timely manner. They will also administer tasks such as insurance claims, CORs, and provide clear and timely communication to customers.
Team Collaboration and Development:
The Logistics and Transportation Supervisor will work effectively with Warehouse and Office teams to ensure key information is shared within reasonable timeframes. They will continually develop new procedures that improve internal administration efficiencies within the Pallet Network team and mentor and develop the Pallet Network Planner.
Skills and Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will possess skills in pallet network-specific operations, HGV Driver/Staff management, computer literacy (including Outlook and Internet-based systems), and good communication skills both verbal and written. They will also be committed to maintaining safety standards and a healthy work environment, able to work within a team, and support the Pallet Network Planner.
Salary and Benefits:
The salary for this role is £33,000-£35,000 per year, and occasional Saturday shifts may be required.
