NHS National Services Scotland is seeking a dedicated individual to fill the role of Psychological Graduate Assistant. This full-time position offers a competitive salary of £25,500 per annum, commensurate with the Agenda for Change Band 4 pay scale.

This opportunity is perfect for psychology graduates who wish to develop their skills in evidence-based interventions for common mental health problems. As a Psychological Graduate Assistant, you will work closely with the NHS Education for Scotland (NES) team to provide comprehensive training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) informed approaches.

The selected candidate will be employed by an NHS Scotland Health Board and will be required to undergo pre-employment checks, including employer references and right-to-work verification. Once cleared, they will embark on a fixed-term contract lasting up to 18 months, comprising a learner phase and post-qualification consolidation phase.

Throughout this period, the successful applicant will engage in supervised practice alongside further academic study, ultimately aiming to progress to an Agenda for Change Band 5 qualified role upon completion of the Enhanced Psychological Practice Programme.

To be eligible, candidates must possess a Psychology honours degree from a British Psychological Society (BPS)-accredited program, demonstrating a strong interest in applying psychology to address common mental health issues. Please note that individuals having received funding from NES for specified training programs within the past two years are ineligible for this role.
