Zachary Daniels Recruitment is pleased to present an exciting opportunity for a skilled IT Procurement Manager to join one of the UK's most successful retailers.

Job Description

This role involves collaborating with the Head of Procurement and operating across various teams, including procurement, IT, legal, and third-party suppliers. Key responsibilities include:

  • Working closely with contract owners to address commercial matters, educate colleagues, and promote best practices in buying.
  • Developing an annual procurement plan aligned with the IT department's budget and project plans, focusing on stakeholder engagement and business cost savings.
  • Closely monitoring contract coverage across technology suppliers to drive improvements in spend under contract and contract management practices.
  • Leading and managing RFPs with new and existing suppliers, consistent with the overall supplier strategy.
  • Serving as the primary point of contact for formal communications with external companies during the procurement process and participating directly in contract negotiations to secure the best outcomes for the business.
  • Proactively building relationships with senior stakeholders to achieve exceptional commercial results.
  • Driving the SRM programme to foster close working relationships between key suppliers, stakeholders, and the company.
  • Contributing to the company's sustainability efforts by promoting responsible and ethical sourcing.
  • Implementing best practices and governance across procurement, contract management, and supplier activities across Europe.
Requirements

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A minimum of 5 years' experience in managing IT procurement in a fast-paced environment, preferably within the retail or FMCG sector.
  • Commercial negotiation and supplier management expertise, with a proven track record of delivering cost savings, service enhancements, and supplier innovation.
  • Strong stakeholder influencing skills, enabling effective engagement and management of senior managers and presentations at Director level.
  • A proven history of supplier development and commercial cost reduction.
  • Detailed knowledge of IT service agreements, licensing, and SAAS agreements.
  • Experience in running competitive procurement exercises (RFPs, RFQs) while balancing outcomes, business risk, urgency, and resources.
  • Significant experience in managing high-value and strategic procurement projects.
Qualifications

The successful candidate will be working towards or hold MCIPS certification from the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply.

Estimated Salary

£60,000 - £80,000 per annum, depending on experience.
