Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Family Therapist to join our team at Great Ormond Street Hospital. The successful candidate will provide specialist family and systemic psychotherapy services to children and young people with gender diversity, working closely with a multidisciplinary team.

Main Duties

The Family Therapist will be responsible for:

  • Providing specialist assessment, treatment, and planning for children and young people with complex needs
  • Developing and implementing systemic interventions to support families and individuals
  • Working collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive care
  • Conducting research and audit projects to inform service development
  • Supervising trainee therapists and providing teaching and training to other professionals
Person Specification

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Postgraduate qualification in family and systemic psychotherapy or a related field
  • Experience working with children and young people with complex needs, particularly those with gender diversity
  • Strong knowledge of systemic theories and interventions, including experience of working with diverse populations
  • Excellent communication and consultation skills, with the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team
  • Advanced IT skills, including data analysis and presentation
