Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly motivated and organized individual to join our team as a Christmas Warehouse Operative. As a key member of our operations team, you will play a critical role in managing the Christmas warehouse operations, including sorting donations, organizing gift hampers, and coordinating logistics.
You will work closely with our Volunteer & Involvement Lead and Event Coordinator to ensure the smooth execution of our Crisis at Christmas event. Your excellent communication and leadership skills will be essential in motivating and supervising a team of volunteers.
Key Responsibilities- Manage the Christmas warehouse operations, including sorting donations and organizing gift hampers
- Coordinate logistics, including driving a van to collect donations and goods across the Northeast
- Supervise and motivate a team of volunteers to achieve event goals
- Support the team with administration and resourcing, including training volunteers on safe delivery practices
- Ensure compliance with Health and Safety legislation and good practice
- Hold a full and valid UK/EU driver's licence (max of 3 points)
- Strong time management and organizational skills, with the ability to work well as part of a team and on your own initiative
- Experience of working with volunteers in a supervisory capacity
- Experience in warehousing/logistics
- Strong leadership skills, with the ability to motivate others and experience of leading and coordinating a diverse team
- Demonstrable knowledge of Health and Safety legislation, compliance, and good practice
- Good attention to detail and ability to keep accurate records
- Commitment to Crisis' purpose and values, including equality and social inclusion
- IT skills and experience of using Microsoft Office software, particularly Word and Excel
