Job Title: DT Technician - 3D Product Design and Graphic Design Specialist

Location: Loughton

Job Type: Part-time

Hours: 21 hours per week (Term Time Only)

Time Allocation: 8:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. (Flexible)

We are seeking a highly skilled DT Technician to provide vital support to the Creative Studies Department, specifically within 3D Product Design and Graphic Design. The successful candidate will assist in the preparation, maintenance, and safe delivery of practical lessons and activities, ensuring that both staff and students have the tools and support they need to excel.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and set out materials (wood, metal, plastic) for lessons and practical exams.
  • Assist teachers during lessons, ensuring the safe use of tools and equipment.
  • Maintain and repair hand tools, sharpen blades, and check equipment regularly.
  • Support extra-curricular activities, events, and the mounting of displays throughout the school.
  • Ensure adherence to Health & Safety regulations, including CLEAPSS and COSHH guidelines.
  • Manage stock levels, order materials, and keep workshops organised and tidy.
  • Arrange for the testing, servicing, and repair of equipment.
  • Participate in relevant training and development opportunities.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Knowledge of workshop tools, equipment, and health and safety procedures.
  • Practical experience in maintenance and repair of tools and machinery.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with teachers and support students in safe working practices.
  • Willingness to complete first aid training.
