Physician Required for Acute Care Surgery Service

Acute Care Surgery Service Opportunity
St. Joseph's Healthcare Hamilton is seeking a Hospitalist physician with expertise in Medicine and General Surgery to provide clinical service to patients with acute General Surgical conditions.
The successful applicant will work collaboratively with the Acute Care Surgery team to assess patients referred to the General Surgery Service via the Emergency Department, consult on patients referred by other medical and surgical subspecialty services, and complete daily rounding on ACS inpatients.
The clinician will be required to work a maximum of 160 hours a month, averaging 40 hours per week, with a focus on Minimally Invasive Surgery and multi-modal perioperative pain management.
Academic responsibilities include clinical education and supervision on the ACS service of all levels of medical learners, residents, physician assistants, and students.
Key qualifications include:
- Experience in Medicine or General Surgery as a member of an interdisciplinary team
- Eligible to attain an academic appointment with McMaster University
- Demonstrated experience providing care to structurally vulnerable populations
- Demonstrated experience in teaching or clinical research
