Job Title: Cover Supervisor

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Cover Supervisor to join our team of education professionals in secondary schools across Sheffield.

About the Role:

The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing classrooms in the absence of a teacher, ensuring students complete their assigned work and stay on task. They will help maintain a positive learning environment, support students' learning needs, and manage behaviour effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise classes and ensure students remain focused on their work.
  • Maintain a positive and structured classroom environment.
  • Assist students with queries related to their tasks.
  • Manage behaviour in line with school policies.
  • Provide feedback to teachers regarding student progress and behaviour.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working as a Cover Supervisor in a school setting is preferred.
  • Strong communication skills and classroom management abilities.
  • Confidence in engaging with students and maintaining discipline.
  • Ability to follow set lesson plans and ensure learning continues in the teacher's absence.
  • Flexibility to cover various subjects and year groups.
  • A genuine passion for education and helping students succeed.
  • Have an updated CV and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
