Job Title: Finance Officer

Joseph Hughes Associates is seeking a highly skilled Finance Officer to join our team. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for a range of finance tasks, including financial reporting, accounting operations, and ensuring legal compliance.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Process accounts payable and accounts receivable, including reconciliations and banking transactions.
  • Manage payroll and employee expenses, including pension contributions and holiday, sickness, and toil records.
  • Administer Sage Cloud Payroll and Sage Cloud accounts, including journal transactions, purchase ledger, and cash receipts.
  • Prepare and manage payments, HMRC PAYE, and VAT returns.
  • Update various SharePoint files and reconcile Project Cost Sheets.
  • Provide financial information and analyses to the Finance Director and Chair.
Requirements:
  • Minimum 5 years' experience working in a similar role.
  • MAAT, AAT level 4 qualification, or above, with a minimum of 3 years' experience working in a similar role.
  • Experience of online book-keeping systems and online payroll systems.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word, and an ability to use an email system.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial concepts, with the ability to interpret and apply complex financial data.
Working Environment:

Our company is based near railway links, and we offer a supportive and collaborative working environment. You will be required to travel to work from various locations, including Ebbw Vale, Abertillery, Newbridge, Brynmawr, Abergavenny, Cross Keys, Blackwood, and Tredegar.

You must have the permanent legal right to work in the U.K without sponsorship.
