About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our dynamic Water Engineering team in Belfast, Dublin, or Cork offices. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality technical outputs and contributing to the success of our water utility projects.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Project Delivery: Produce feasibility studies, outline design, detailed design, and provide construction support for water utility projects, including wastewater and potable water schemes.
  2. Collaboration and Liaison: Liaise and collaborate with our water and other discipline teams, including civil, electrical, process, and mechanical engineers nationwide.
  3. Technical Output: Deliver high-quality technical outputs, contribute to bids, and interface with clients and collaborators in design and planning.
  4. Project Management: Ensure projects meet agreed budgets, timelines, and quality standards, and assist in preparing project budgets and schedules.
  5. Design and Analysis: Design mechanical installations, typically including municipal water and wastewater pumping stations, screens, grit removal plants, penstocks, valves, odor control systems, and pipework.
  6. Site Visits and Surveys: Conduct site visits to perform surveys and support liaisons with clients, contractors, and suppliers.
  7. Pumping Station Design: Create pumping station designs, headloss calculations, and pumping system analysis/pump selection.

About You

We are looking for a highly experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer with a degree or equivalent in mechanical engineering. You should have a proven ability to produce, check, and approve engineering reports, designs, drawings, technical specifications, and calculations. Extensive experience in water and wastewater projects across feasibility, outline design, detailed design, and construction support is essential.
