Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality radiotherapy treatments to patients as prescribed by oncologists.
  • Operate and maintain sophisticated radiotherapy equipment, ensuring precise delivery of treatment.
  • Provide exceptional patient care and support during treatment sessions, addressing any concerns they may have.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement treatment plans.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and documentation.
  • Stay current with the latest advancements in radiotherapy techniques and technologies.

Qualifications:

  • Essential:
  • BSc in Radiotherapy or equivalent qualification.
  • Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
  • Extensive experience working in the NHS (UK) in a related role.
  • Trained and experienced in using Elekta or Varian radiotherapy equipment.
  • Ability to complete Continuing Professional Development (CPD) activities.

Skills and Aptitudes:

  • Strong theoretical knowledge of various treatment techniques, advanced techniques, Image-Guided Radiation Therapy (IGRT), and planning.
  • Participation in the development and implementation of new techniques and procedures.
  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to interact with anxious and demanding patients and colleagues.
  • Attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
