About the Role

Aspire People Limited is seeking an experienced and dedicated Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO) to join a welcoming primary school in a supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage the school's SEN provision, ensuring alignment with national guidelines.
  • Collaborate with teachers, support staff, and external professionals to identify, assess, and support pupils with SEND.
  • Develop, implement, and review individual education plans (IEPs) and targeted interventions.
  • Provide guidance and support to classroom staff on inclusive teaching practices.
  • Liaise with parents and caregivers, maintaining strong communication and partnerships.
  • Ensure the school is fully compliant with SEND legislation and effectively uses resources to support pupils.
  • Monitor and evaluate the progress of pupils with SEN, ensuring appropriate documentation is maintained.
Requirements
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and NASENCO qualification (or working towards it).
  • Proven experience as a SENCO or in a similar SEN leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of SEND legislation and the SEN Code of Practice.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with a range of stakeholders, including pupils, staff, parents, and external agencies.
  • A proactive and compassionate approach to supporting children with diverse needs.
  • Able and willing to teach across the school when required.
