Bury, Borough of Bury, United Kingdom Active Care Group Full time
We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Support and Empowerment Specialist to join our team at Northern Case Management. As a Support and Empowerment Specialist, you will work with an individual with cerebral palsy to promote and maintain their independence in daily life. This is a challenging yet rewarding role that requires flexibility, responsibility, and excellent communication skills.

We offer a competitive hourly rate of £13.00 for weekday shifts and £13.50 for weekend shifts. You will also have the opportunity to develop your skills and work independently, making this a great career move for those looking to make a difference.

Our client is a 30-year-old male who resides in his own adapted property in the Hawkshaw area of Bury. He has cerebral palsy and uses Alternative and Augmentative Communication (AAC) to express himself. He enjoys a range of activities, including physiotherapy, hydrotherapy, horse riding, and wheelchair football.

As a Support and Empowerment Specialist, you will support the client with various aspects of daily life, including activities of daily living, community activities, and his job role as a mentor for AAC users. You will work closely with other team members to provide the highest standards of care and support. The post requires you to work independently and as part of a team, so reliability, integrity, and trustworthiness are essential attributes.

We require a full clean driving license, a genuine interest in providing person-centered care, and previous experience working with individuals with cerebral palsy or brain injury. Experience of dealing with clients with challenging behaviors is desirable but not essential. You will also need to undergo an Enhanced DBS check.
