About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Scientific Coordinator to join our Waste Water Sampling team at Scottish Water. As a key member of the team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and accuracy of our water sampling operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical support and guidance to the sampling team, ensuring compliance with UKAS accreditation and ISO 17025 and ISO 14001 certification.
  • Develop and implement quality control procedures to maintain the highest standards of water sampling and testing.
  • Collaborate with the Waste Water Sampling Team Leader to ensure seamless operations and effective communication with the team.
  • Train and mentor new team members, ensuring they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties effectively.
  • Conduct regular audits to ensure the team is meeting quality targets and identify areas for improvement.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Proven experience in water sampling and testing, with a strong understanding of UKAS accreditation and ISO 17025 and ISO 14001 certification.
  • Excellent technical skills, with the ability to analyze data and identify trends.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with the team and stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a flexible approach to working hours.
  • Full, clean driving license and willingness to travel occasionally.
