Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Child Mental Health Clinical Support Specialist to join our team at Cambridgeshire Community Services NHS Trust.

About the Role

The successful applicant will work closely with our experienced team to provide clinical expertise and support to children, young people, and their families who require mental health services.

As a Child Mental Health Clinical Support Specialist, you will be responsible for working effectively with other members of the skill mix team within our Single Point of Access – Just One Number (JON) service.

You will have a robust understanding of local emotional health provision and be able to give children, young people, and their families appropriate advice and guidance as needed, making referrals to the appropriate service when required.

Main Responsibilities
  • To develop skills and confidence to support colleagues within JON, especially in understanding current mental health needs, risk, and care planning.
  • To contribute to production and maintenance of digital resources on Just One Norfolk and promote these within JON and with other stakeholders, allowing the identification of appropriate use of self-help material and understanding when further clinical assessment is indicated.
  • To undertake complex assessments, planning, and evaluating care packages, and responsibility for the management of a caseload, working in a multi-disciplinary environment.
Key Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A degree in a relevant area of study and relevant experience of working in a Mental Health field.
  • Evidence of continuous professional development.
  • A strong understanding of child and young people's mental health needs and local services.
