About the Role

MWH Treatment is seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our Engineering team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality design solutions for our water and wastewater schemes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Report to Principal Engineer, Design Managers, Technical Discipline Lead, and Regional Discipline Lead.
  • Produce cost-effective design layouts that meet project specifications and can be constructed and commissioned effectively.
  • Produce and check all design deliverables, including specifications, schedules, drawings, and calculations.
  • Work with other disciplines to develop site/plant 3D models.
  • Ensure standard designs and practices are utilized wherever possible.
  • Deliver design stage outputs within agreed timescales and budgets.
  • Coordinate design outputs across all technical disciplines.
  • Maintain competitiveness.
  • Provide estimates and feedback for the Proposals department.
  • Establish working relationships with construction staff and supply chain representatives to promote buildability and supply chain efficiency in design outputs.
  • Work to procedures and processes to ensure the continuing development of the department.
  • Assist in developing procedures and processes.
  • Monitor and review procedures and processes.
  • Write, update, and monitor efficient procedures to aid the smooth running of the department.
  • Ensure coordination of designs with all other disciplines internal and external to MWH Treatment to ensure design processes carried out on the contract are coordinated for the benefit of the contract as a whole.
  • Maintain files and records throughout the duration of contracts.
  • Assure customer satisfaction.
  • Work within a culture where satisfying the customer is recognized as the key to achieving other objectives, and that customers include everyone receiving benefit from our processes, whether end users or other departments within the company.
  • Maintain a personal development plan.
  • Assist in supervising and developing staff.
  • Assist in ensuring a safe working environment for all staff.
  • Reduce waste to a minimum from all departmental activities.
  • Ensure designs take account of environmental issues.
  • Ensure that design takes full regard of all CDM 2015 Regulations and health and safety requirements.
