Expert DBT Therapist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced DBT Therapist to join our team at South West London and St George's Mental Health NHS Trust. As a key member of our personality disorder service, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality DBT therapy to clients with Emotionally Unstable Personality Disorder.
About the RoleThis is a challenging yet rewarding opportunity for a passionate and dedicated therapist to make a real difference in the lives of our patients. You will work closely with senior clinicians and provide supervision to junior therapists within the service. Your expertise in DBT will enable you to develop and implement treatment plans that cater to the unique needs of each client.
Main Responsibilities- To assess clients referred to the service using a range of complex data sources, including clinical history taking, psychological tests, and semi-structured interviews.
- To formulate and implement treatment plans based on an understanding of the client's problems and employing evidence-based methods.
- To manage a caseload of individual and group-based therapy sessions.
- To provide consultation and guidance to other professionals contributing to the client's formulation, diagnosis, and treatment plan.
- To contribute to the development of a psychologically informed framework of care across all settings and agencies serving the client group.
Essential Qualifications:
- Doctoral level training in clinical or counselling psychology (or equivalent).
- Core Mental Health Profession registration with a relevant professional body.
- Formal training in DBT (to intensive level) with 2 years of supervised experience.
- Evidence of continuing professional development as recommended by the BPS.
Desirable Qualifications:
- Post-registration qualification in group work or Group Analytic training.
- Accreditation in DBT or working towards accreditation in supervision in DBT.
Essential Experience:
- Demonstrable experience of working with adults with mental health problems in various community settings.
- Experience of multi-disciplinary team working and inter-agency collaboration.
- Experience of working with clients with a diagnosis of personality disorder.
Salary: £65,000 - £85,000 per annum (dependent on experience), plus benefits package.
