We are seeking a Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join our team at Positive Futures Recruitment, supporting children aged 11-16 with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs in a specialist provision.

The Role

As a Higher Level Teaching Assistant, you will provide support to the young people with their learning and general wellbeing, ensuring every child has the best opportunity to reach their full potential in a caring and safe environment. This may include positive behaviour management, adopting a tailored approach to the individual child.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Take responsibility for safeguarding and promoting the welfare of pupils according to our policies, including safeguarding and PREVENT
  • Implement learning activities and experiences, appropriate to the class group, by supporting the delivery of a broad and balanced curriculum, aiming at pupils achieving their full potential in all areas of learning
  • Establish a positive relationship with pupils, enabling them to feel safe and enjoy learning
  • Support the teacher in planning and delivering lessons, adapting to the needs of the pupils
  • Monitor and record pupil progress, providing feedback to the teacher and other relevant staff
