Quality Engineer Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Quality Engineer to join our team at CV-Library. As a Quality Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that our products and services meet the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Provide quality engineering support to operations, ensuring consistent application of quality techniques and alignment to quality standards.
  2. Resolve quality issues related to capability, tolerancing, and materials.
  3. Identify problems, examine solution options, implement action plans, and provide resources to resolve quality issues.
  4. Use industry-standard quality methodologies such as PPAP/APQP and 8D problem resolution.
  5. Effectively communicate and reinforce the business's commitment to quality improvement efforts.
  6. Assist the NPI department in the pre-production process, ensuring quality excellence is achieved on products prior to release to production.
  7. Work closely with the NPI team to ensure the pre-production process is supported and quality information is gathered and reported before product release.
  8. Participate in the use of Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) where required.
  9. Facilitate and promote the use of appropriate problem-solving techniques for effective root cause analysis and corrective action.
  10. Coordinate with Sales, Purchasing, Engineering, Production, and Toolroom to resolve customer and supplier concerns.
  11. Apply Measurement System Analysis tools and define, manage, and report on production key performance indicators (KPIs).
  12. Recommend and implement enhancements to the quality system that result in improved quality performance, increased customer satisfaction, and/or simplification of processes to reduce costs.
  13. Perform supplier audits as required and provide ongoing communication/reporting of results.
  14. Participate in the reporting, analysis, and review of product and process performance to identify opportunities for improvement.
  15. Produce quarterly summaries to support production output, purchasing reviews, and audits.
  16. Support product inspection quality decisions and investigations with a view to reducing engineering support resources.
  17. Maintain, manage, and improve non-conformance reporting (NCR) system and allocation of tasks as part of ongoing QMS processes and any reviews.
Requirements:
  1. Minimum of 5 years' experience in quality environments within engineering, manufacturing, marine, or defence sectors.
  2. IT literate, proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  3. Practical knowledge of quality standards.
  4. Proven experience of Production Quality Engineering and Control within a manufacturing environment.
  5. Experience of process management.
  6. Proven track record of driving continuous quality improvement in a manufacturing environment.
  7. Passion for customer satisfaction & soft skills and process-oriented profile.
  8. Strong influencing skills & team player.
  9. Willing to promote change and drive simplification.
  10. Great attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
  11. Team spirit enabler.
  12. Good analytical skills and data manager.
Qualifications:
  1. BTEc Higher or equivalent ideally, degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or relevant field.
  2. Additional certification in Quality Assurance is a plus.
  3. Ideally apprenticeship trained.
