About the Role

Lighthouse Games is a renowned AAA studio in the gaming industry, known for its commitment to excellence and innovation. As a Senior Physics Programmer, you will play a crucial role in shaping the realistic and interactive elements of our game.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and optimize cutting-edge physics systems for our video game project using Unreal Engine 5
  • Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to integrate physics simulations seamlessly into gameplay mechanics, character interactions, and environmental effects
  • Implement advanced physics algorithms and techniques to create realistic and dynamic movement, collision, and destruction effects
  • Optimize physics performance to ensure smooth gameplay experiences on a variety of platforms and hardware configurations
  • Troubleshoot and resolve physics-related issues, working closely with other engineers to find creative solutions
  • Mentor junior engineers, providing technical guidance, code reviews, and knowledge sharing to elevate the team's skill set

Requirements

  • Significant professional experience as a physics programmer with a proven track record of shipping high-quality video game titles
  • Expertise in Unreal Engine
  • Proficiency in C++
  • Strong understanding of physics principles and their application in interactive environments
  • Experience with advanced physics techniques such as rigid body dynamics, soft body simulation, and fluid dynamics
  • Ability to optimize physics simulations for performance on various gaming platforms
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced and dynamic team environment
