Job Description:
This part-time position involves teaching Year 2 students at a primary school in Harborne, Birmingham. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging and comprehensive lessons, developing and implementing a well-rounded curriculum, and fostering a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lesson Delivery: Teach inspiring and comprehensive lessons to Year 2 students, utilizing various teaching methodologies and resources to cater to diverse learning styles.
- Curriculum Development: Create and implement a comprehensive curriculum that meets the academic, social, and emotional needs of the students.
- Classroom Environment: Establish a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes a love for learning, collaboration, and respect among students.
- Student Progress: Continuously assess student progress, providing constructive feedback, and adapting teaching strategies to ensure ongoing improvement.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with fellow educators to plan and coordinate interdisciplinary projects, school events, and extracurricular activities.
- Communication: Establish effective lines of communication with parents and guardians, delivering regular updates on student progress and addressing any concerns.
- Professional Development: Engage in professional development activities to enhance your teaching skills and remain up-to-date with the latest educational practices.
Requirements:
- Qualifications: Qualified teacher status (QTS) and relevant teaching qualifications.
- Experience: Previous experience teaching Year 2 students, with a solid understanding of the national curriculum and age-appropriate teaching techniques.
- Classroom Management: Excellent classroom management abilities, enabling you to create a positive and engaging learning environment.
- Communication Skills: Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with students, parents, and fellow educators.
- Pedagogy: A genuine passion for education, a commitment to student success, and a nurturing approach to teaching.
- Differentiation: The capability to differentiate instruction and provide personalized support to meet the diverse needs of students.
- Organisation: Strong organizational and time management skills to plan lessons effectively, assess student work, and provide timely feedback.
Contract Details:
This long-term position is available immediately and will continue until the end of the current academic year. As a successful candidate, you will have the opportunity to secure a permanent position starting from the following academic year, subject to performance evaluation.
Salary: £30,000 per annum.
