We're looking for a skilled Machine Learning Scientist to lead the design of scalable models in our Edinburgh office. This role requires experience in generative AI and large models, as well as the ability to work alongside a science team to improve recommendations relevancy and raise Amazon's profile as a global leader in machine learning and personalization.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Develop high-scale machine learning algorithms for recommendations problems.
  2. Rapidly prototype and test hypotheses using quantitative analysis and business judgement in a high-ambiguity environment.
  3. Collaborate with software engineers to integrate experimental results into complex production systems capable of handling 100,000s of transactions per second at low latency.
  4. Report results in a statistically rigorous and compelling manner, exemplifying good scientific practice in a business environment.
Salary Estimate:

£120,000 - £150,000 per annum, depending on experience.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
  • PhD or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Machine Learning, or related field.
  • Experience programming in Java, C++, Python, or related language.
  • Background in algorithms and data structures, numerical optimization, data mining, parallel computing, or high-performance computing.
  • Experience building machine learning models for business applications.
