Religious Studies Teacher Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Religious Studies Teacher to join our team at Wayman Learning Trust. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality teaching and learning experiences to our students, promoting academic excellence and personal growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging and challenging lessons that cater to the diverse needs of Religious Studies students
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing regular feedback and guidance to ensure academic success
  • Create a positive and inclusive learning environment that fosters respect, empathy, and understanding
  • Collaborate with colleagues and school leaders to develop and implement effective teaching strategies and curriculum plans
  • Participate in school-related activities, such as performances, events, and parent-teacher meetings, to promote a sense of community and shared responsibility
  • Adhere to safeguarding policies and promote the welfare of all students, ensuring a safe and supportive learning environment

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in teaching Religious Studies in a mainstream secondary school
  • QTS or equivalent qualification
  • A recognized teaching qualification, preferably a Bachelor's degree in Education or a relevant field
  • Excellent classroom management skills, with the ability to engage and motivate learners
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with parents, staff, and students
  • Sound knowledge of the national curriculum and its application in the classroom
  • Ability to adapt teaching styles to cater to different learning styles and needs
  • A passion for teaching and making a positive impact on students' lives
