Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Engineer to join our Production Team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our machinery and equipment, performing routine maintenance tasks, and responding to equipment faults.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out routine scheduled maintenance work and respond to equipment faults.
  • Deal with emergencies, breakdowns, and repairs.
  • Check and calibrate instruments to ensure accuracy.
  • Use diagnostic and fault-finding methods to establish root cause and repair plant and equipment, ensuring minimal downtime.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and regulations.
  • Fit new parts and ensure equipment is working correctly.
  • Provide training to operators to enable them to perform routine basic maintenance activities.
  • Participate in training programs to stay updated with new technologies and best practices in maintenance engineering.
  • Collaborate with other departments to address maintenance issues and improve overall efficiencies.
  • Keep accurate records of maintenance activities and equipment performance.
  • Manage external contractors while on-site.

Requirements:

  • A mechanical engineering apprenticeship or qualification.
  • Industrial or manufacturing background.
  • Electrical and mechanical training/experience within an industrial setting.
  • Working at Heights.
  • Planned Preventative Maintenance.
  • PLC Fault Finding / 3Phase.
  • Capacity to understand a range of engineering functions and procedures.
  • Team-working skills to collaborate and liaise with people at all levels.
  • Good diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
  • Confidence to respond positively when under pressure.
  • Ability to logically fault find.
  • Ability to read and understand electrical and mechanical drawings (desirable).
  • Understanding of hydraulics and compressed air systems (desirable).
