Mechanical Automation Engineer Opportunity

Moon Executive Search is seeking an experienced Mechanical Automation Engineer to join our client's dynamic and fast-paced manufacturing team in Somerset.

  • Full-time, permanent role

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and developing bespoke manufacturing solutions to support the manufacture of electric motors. This will involve collaborating with clients and design teams to create detailed specifications, developing engineering solutions for production equipment, and drafting 2D manufacturing drawings and detailed 3D designs.

  • Collaborate with clients and design teams to create detailed specifications
  • Develop engineering solutions for production equipment
  • Draft 2D manufacturing drawings and detailed 3D designs
  • Work closely with control engineers to develop automation systems
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards
  • Support equipment procurement, planning, and commissioning
  • Resolve production process issues and improve efficiency
  • Deliver high-quality products to customers
  • Provide training to client engineers and operators
  • Produce supporting documentation
Requirements

The ideal candidate will have a degree or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering or a related field, extensive experience in design bespoke machinery/equipment, and a strong understanding of Solidworks CAD system. Additionally, they should have knowledge and experience using GD&T and a good understanding of MFMEA processes.
