Job Title: Senior Project Manager - Head of Project Department
Job Summary:
Vickerstock is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead our Project Department. As the Head of Project Department, you will be responsible for overseeing the full portfolio of customer projects, providing expert knowledge and support to the project delivery team, and monitoring progress and reporting on the portfolio status.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the full portfolio of customer projects, ensuring consistent delivery in line with project scope and agreed plans.
- Provide expert knowledge and support to the project delivery team, ensuring effective communication and relationships between customers and project management team members.
- Monitor progress and report on the portfolio status, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes as needed.
- Develop and maintain project delivery best practices, ensuring compliance with contractual stipulations and customer satisfaction.
- Lead a team of 15 project engineers and managers, providing guidance and support to ensure maximum effectiveness and efficiency.
- Collaborate with the IT department to evaluate and implement data-gathering practices for monitoring, controlling, and reporting project data.
- Standardize portfolio management methods and documentation, utilizing organizational assets and industry standards to drive successful project delivery.
- Strengthen learning and engagement throughout the business by creating communities of practice and knowledge management opportunities.
- Monitor portfolio performance on an ongoing basis, using reports, conversations, dashboards, and auditing techniques to ensure effectiveness and efficiency.
Requirements:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar senior project management role, with a proven track record of successfully overseeing and managing an established project management team.
- High proficiency in dealing with and working to high-value contractual legal agreements.
- Extensive people management and front-end customer management skills.
- Experience with project management and capacity planning software.

- A competitive salary range of £68,000-£78,000 depending on experience levels.
