Farm Assistant

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Farm Assistant to join our team at Larkin Farm, a purpose-built facility located at Abbey Court School. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining the welfare of the farm animals and working closely with teaching staff to deliver an education to students on animal husbandry and horticulture.
Key Responsibilities- Maintain the health and well-being of the farm animals
- Work with teaching staff to deliver educational programs on animal husbandry and horticulture
- Assist with the management of the farm and its resources
- Provide support to the management of the school and assist the Headteacher with promoting the use of the farm as an educational resource
The ideal candidate will have experience working with animals and a strong understanding of animal husbandry and horticulture. They will also have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with teaching staff and students.
Due to the complex needs of the pupils at Abbey Court School, continuity and consistency of support is paramount. Therefore, the successful candidate will need to commit to the full working hours of the post.
