We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Insurance Account Handler to join our team at Howden. As an Insurance Account Handler, you will play a critical role in delivering an excellent and comprehensive service to our customers, ensuring their needs are met through suitable cover and pricing.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work independently to prioritize tasks and achieve personal and team objectives
  • Participate in team meetings to report on business progress and provide relevant management information
  • Handle assigned projects and collaborate with other teams as required
  • Review client documentation to ensure accuracy and completeness
  • Collate and communicate client requirements to ensure effective marketing of the risk
  • Prepare or check market presentations to ensure compliance and quality
  • Liaise with clients and resolve queries in a timely and professional manner
  • Respond to market and third-party queries as necessary
  • Ensure compliance with territory, tax, and legislation requirements
  • Produce high-quality and compliant market documentation
  • Plan and implement solutions to meet client demands and needs
  • Take ownership of data entry, credit control, and chasing subjectivities
  • Liaise with support technicians and IBA as required
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records on our company system
  • Work within agreed parameters and adhere to company procedures and compliance requirements
  • Process data promptly and accurately to support client service and internal process execution
  • Maintain client files and produce documentation to meet client, company, and regulatory requirements
  • Ensure due diligence and sanctions checks are conducted in line with company procedures
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures and obtain necessary authorizations
  • Engage in personal development to ensure up-to-date knowledge and understanding of best practice
  • Stay informed of external, industry, legal, and regulatory developments to ensure high-quality practice and outputs
Requirements
  • Understanding of general and legal principles of insurance
  • Knowledge of relevant regulatory and legal frameworks
  • Awareness of the market, including competitors and specific territory knowledge
  • Relevant product knowledge and experience in an account handling or technical role
  • Good understanding of team objectives and how own role contributes to these
  • Specific systems knowledge relevant to the role
  • Good communication and social skills
  • Able to work independently and use initiative
  • Flexible to achieve tight deadlines and targets with good organization skills
