About the Role

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Accounting Assistant to join our team at Fresh Recruit.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing administrative support to our finance department, including managing purchase and sales ledgers, scanning and loading supplier invoices onto Sage, and preparing payment runs. They will also be required to match bank receipts and payments to Sage invoices, provide holiday cover for the Finance Accounts Manager, and perform other administrative tasks as needed.

Key Responsibilities
  • Purchase and Sales Ledger Management: Manage and maintain accurate records of purchases and sales, ensuring timely and efficient processing of invoices and payments.
  • Invoice Scanning and Loading: Scan and load supplier invoices onto Sage, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies.
  • Payment Run Preparation: Prepare payment runs for suppliers, including reconciliations and approvals.
  • Bank Receipts and Payments Matching: Match bank receipts and payments to Sage invoices, ensuring accurate accounting and reconciliation.
  • Holiday Cover: Provide holiday cover for the Finance Accounts Manager, taking on additional responsibilities as needed.
Requirements
  • Candidate Specification:
  • Customer-friendly phone and email skills
  • Good numeracy and Excel experience – pivot tables, filters etc.
  • Sage Line 50 Accounts
  • Sage Payroll (this can be taught)

We estimate the salary for this role to be around £25,000 - £30,000 per annum, depending on experience.
