About the Role
Are you a seasoned journalist with a passion for politics and social media? Do you have a strong understanding of the UK political landscape and a proven track record of creating engaging social content?

We're seeking a talented Senior Journalist Team Manager to lead our politics social media strategy and help us deliver high-quality, impartial content to our audiences across multiple platforms.

As a key member of our digital politics team, you'll be responsible for planning and delivering big political events, including the Budget, conference season, and weekly PMQs. You'll work closely with correspondents and stakeholders to bring their journalism to social audiences and use data and social listening to guide and commission short-form social video.

With a strong grasp of UK politics and a commitment to improving diversity in the BBC, you'll be an excellent communicator and team player with a passion for creating engaging content that resonates with our audiences.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan and deliver big political events, including the Budget, conference season, and weekly PMQs

• Work closely with correspondents and stakeholders to bring their journalism to social audiences

• Use data and social listening to guide and commission short-form social video

• Create engaging social content that resonates with our audiences

• Collaborate with the digital politics team to develop and implement social media strategies

• Ensure that our output reflects the audiences we serve and promotes diversity and inclusion

• Carry out duties in accordance with the BBC health and safety policy

• Deliver journalism of the highest standard and within the required time frame using available resources

• Seek ways to increase diversity in our workforce and ensure that our output reflects the audiences we serve
