Responsibilities

  • We are seeking an experienced Energy Commodity Trader to deal in oil products.
  • You will be responsible for directly corresponding with a diverse array of clients, including banks, hedge funds, asset managers, oil majors, and trade houses.
  • To succeed in this role, you must be able to strategize and analyze markets and products to increase profit and loss (P&L).
  • Compliance with regulatory requirements under applicable regulators is essential.
  • You will adhere to the operational risk framework for your role, ensuring that all regulatory or company-determined parameters are met.
  • This position involves carrying out regulatory activities under relevant Marex trading books.
  • You will be expected to ensure full awareness of and adherence to internal policies related to your role or any other activities for which you have responsibility.
  • If you identify any breaches of policy, you must report them to Compliance and/or your supervisor as required.
  • Escalating risk events immediately is crucial.
  • You will provide input to risk management processes as needed.
  • A comprehensive knowledge of the financial services markets and relevant regulatory requirements is necessary.
  • Substantial experience working in and knowledge of energy commodity markets is required.
  • You should have experience working in a regulated environment and knowledge of the risk and compliance requirements associated with it.
  • You must excel at building relationships, networking, and influencing others.
