Our client is a young woman with learning disabilities and complex health needs who is looking for personal assistants to support her in living independently at home with her parents.

When she is well, she enjoys socialising, going to cafes, the cinema, museums, and spending time with friends. She also likes to be out and about and uses her tricycle on the seafront and in the park.

When she is not well, she appreciates companionship and someone to make sure she is as comfortable as possible.

As a personal assistant, you will be required to undertake duties such as assisting with personal care, administering medication, moving and handling with and without a hoist, supporting our client during prolonged myoclonus episodes, first aid, and light housework.

You will also be required to support her with her communication programme (PODD), for which training will be given.

We are looking for a personal assistant who is respectful, fun, well-organised, and able to adapt to make the best of everyday, whether our client is well or not well.

Experience of working with people with learning disabilities is essential. You will need to be caring and compassionate but also resilient and able to use your initiative.

Full induction and training will be provided, along with shadowing shifts.
