A leading capital equipment provider in the field of automation seeks an experienced Installation Technician to join their team. This exciting opportunity involves installing large automated equipment worldwide, with a focus on international travel for extended periods.
The ideal candidate will have City & Guilds electrical qualifications and be flexible to work away from home for 6 weeks or more at a time. The role includes training in Oxfordshire, where accommodation and transport arrangements will be made.
Once trained, the successful candidate will report directly to the Installation and Technical Support Manager and be responsible for:
- Installing complex automated equipment globally
- Working across Monday to Sunday, with one rest day per week
- Paying standard hours of 47.5 per week, with compensation for travel time and rest days
- Overtime paid on a lieu system, with 15 days retained by the company for adequate rest time between trips
The person specification requires a minimum of City & Guilds electrical qualifications, with previous experience in installation work in the commercial sector. A valid MEWP license is essential, along with excellent technical knowledge of automation and ability to interpret installation design plans (CAD).
Candidates with PLC experience are highly desirable, as well as those with French and German language skills. The estimated salary for this position is £33,000 - £36,000 p.a., with potential earnings up to £45,000 p.a. including overtime. Hired vehicles and health shield benefits are also included in the package.
