Job Title: Subject Matter Expert - Vehicle Powertrain

Forseven is revolutionizing the automotive industry by harnessing cutting-edge technologies and engineering excellence. As a Subject Matter Expert - Vehicle Powertrain, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our company.

About the Role

Reporting to our Head of Electric Powertrain, you will oversee the entire vehicle powertrain, collaborating with technical specialists in Battery, Power Electronics, Electric Drive Units, and Thermal Systems. Your primary responsibility will be to provide support and guidance to the delivery team, ensuring a balance between project delivery and future development opportunities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Technical Authority for vehicle powertrain, creating architectures, supporting design and systems engineers, leading technical studies, and championing development opportunities.
  • Support Project Engineers and the Design and Integration team to ensure high-quality solutions are designed into current vehicle programmes.
  • Contribute to and review DFMEAs, DVPs, vehicle and component test data, supplier specifications, and raised risks to provide independent review and guidance to the team.
  • Act as a mentor to the engineering team, sharing knowledge and experience, and encouraging the production of high-quality documentation and issue management.
  • Perform technical sign-off of specifications, technical drawings, and specification compliance, respecting vehicle attributes and regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor and maintain opportunities for development and protection of intellectual property, identifying partners and key suppliers for the company.
Requirements
  • An honours degree in an appropriate Engineering field, such as Mechanical, Aerospace, or Automotive.
  • Experience in CAD packages, preferably CATIA.
  • Detailed knowledge and understanding of Electric Powertrain components, including Driveshaft, Gearboxes, Thermal Systems, and HV systems.
  • A good understanding of BEV control systems and their impact on the Electric Powertrain.
  • Experience delivering into high-volume programmes or publishing technical papers and intellectual property.
