Senior Database Administrator

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Database Administrator to join the central Information Services team at Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the maintenance and efficiency of the data warehouse, requiring practical experience with MS SQL Server 2018 upwards.
Main Responsibilities:
- Monitoring server performance and identifying bottlenecks.
- Identifying long running processes and inefficient queries.
- Creating and managing indexes.
- Removing unused indexes and data items.
- Building new tables.
Requirements:
- Educated to Masters Degree level or significant relevant practical experience.
- Microsoft SQL Server certification.
Key Skills:
- Strong knowledge of indexes, index management, and database shrink operations.
- Experience with SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS).
- Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
Working with the NHS:
- A clear understanding of the Trust PROUD Values.
- Ability to communicate with individuals and groups about complex matters.

Salary: £46,148 to £52,809 a year (pa/pro rata for part time staff)
